STEPS FOR SETTING UP A LICE BUSTERS PROGRAM

1. Recruit volunteers/Hire staff:
Staff will be needed to oversee the program and help raise funds, travel to homes to assist parents with cleaning, vacuuming, and nit removal. Stress confidentiality with your volunteers and staff!

2. Raising money:
Funding to purchase supplies for parents and copy information about lice for parents and teachers can be acquired in a variety of ways.
3. Purchase supplies:
Some of the things schools might provide are vacuum cleaners to loan out to parents, non-toxic lice shampoos or other treatments, shower caps, combs and money for washing and drying clothes, bedding and towels.

4. Taking action:
After your school has acquired the necessary resources, an impact can be made on children's attendance.
